Door Servicing

Door and roller shutter servicing is not only essential, but it is also a legal requirement. Door supply offer our clients 6 or 12 monthly plans depending on the door and roller shutter usage. Following each service visit our technician will fill out a service sheet for each door and the client will receive a copy detailing any defects or damage the door or roller shutter may have along with a quotation to rectify any defects. Should an upgrade be required to bring the door or roller shutter in line with health and safety requirements a separate quotation will be formulated and sent to the client. Regular preventative door and shutter servicing can prolong the life cycle of the equipment and can identify any potential problems before they occur.

It is sometimes difficult to keep up to speed with changes in legislation and health and safety law, we have highlighted the main regulations and extracts that relate to roller shutters and door systems, but they are not exhaustive.

Regulation 5 & 18 of the workplace (Health Safety and Welfare) regulations 1992

Extract: “The equipment devices and systems to which this regulation applies shall be subject to a suitable schedule of maintenance”.

This applies to all types of industrial, commercial doors including manually and electrically operated.

Regulation 5 of the provision and use of work equipment regulations 1998 (PUWER)

Extract “A” Every employer should ensure that work equipment is maintained in an efficient state and in efficient working order and in good repair.

Extract “B” Every employer should ensure that where any machinery has a maintenance log, the log should be kept up to date. This applies to power operated doors and roller shutters.
