Sectional overhead doors not only offer exceptional thermal performance due to the CFC foam filled panel (40mm thick) but they offer a high level of security.

Architects & specifiers are looking to increase the use of sectional overhead doors not only for their insulation & security values but they also offer acoustic qualities which become more important when factories & housing schemes sit along side one another. The need for noise reduction is critical.

Construction

Our sectional overhead doors are made up with 40 mm thick double skin steel panels that are filled with CFC free foam. The panels lift vertically with steel aircraft cables in galvanised steel tracks and are operated with a chain hoist or a 3 phase direct drive motor which is assisted by torsion springs

Operation

Sectional overhead doors can be operated manually or electrically, normally doors that are under 3 metres x 3 metres are operated manually but can be electrically operated.

Doors that exceed 3 metres x 3 metres are operated electrically with a 3 phase direct drive motor.

Controls

They can be operated by various methods, the most common is the push button station but doors can be operated with key switch or remote control.

Safety

These doors are built with cable break devices as standard but there is the option to increase safety by fitting electrical safety features such as a safety edge to the bottom panel which stops the door and returns it to the open position if it hits an obstruction in the downward travel. Another popular safety device is the photo cell & reflector which senses an obstruction in the path of the door and stops the door operating.

Surface finishes

The inner door skin is finished in RAL 9010 white polyester stucco embossed. The outer skin can be finished with a range of standard colours which are available on request.

As with all our doors there are no limitations and we can offer various options in operation, colour & furniture including double glazed windows in the door panels
